Volunteer

Due to a high volume of requests, starting February 2026, Humane Intelligence has temporarily paused new volunteer sign ups. We’ll be back later in the year with a more streamlined onboarding process. New volunteers can continue to indicate their interest using our contact form or contact email, though requests sent after February 1, 2026 will be answered in the coming months. 

Humane Intelligence and a partner organization we’ll announce soon are exploring the creation of an AI in Public Health fund. We are seeking volunteers to help us define what the fund will cover and how it will be capitalized. Note this is a formal working group that requires sign up and approval.

Humane Intelligence is seeking volunteer researchers for the following:

• Policy – especially in issues we’re tracking
• Grants – we are always seeking new funding opportunities and could use support in identifying funders for our key priority areas
• Thought Leadership – Humane Intelligence frequently writes research reports and thought leadership pieces related to AI evaluations and algorithmic bias. We have an open call for volunteer background researchers.

Coming to one of our upcoming events? Please reach out if you can help us take photos, gather participant quotes, or help us promote our work! We are also seeking a volunteer video editor to help us refine our past event assets and post them on YouTube. We are flexible on which software is used to edit the videos and only need the final cuts. We are also flexible on timeline.

We recently relaunched our blog and are looking for guest contributors to work with us on new posts. We are especially interested in topics related to our priority areas:

• AI evaluations, contextual evaluations
• Algorithmic bias, misdirection, hallucinations
• Responsible AI, AI ethics, AI for (social) good
• Economic, social and cultural prosperity
