Humane Intelligence is developing its new ontology / knowledge graph contextual AI evaluation methodology, moving bias bounties onto the Zindi data science challenge platform, working on the release of its OSS AI red teaming app, and building out the workstreams of the AI in Public Health working group. 2025

Humane Intelligence hosts the AI Society House at the Paris AI Action Summit and launches its AI red teaming web application. Rumman steps down as CEO of Humane Intelligence, the nonprofit. Mala Kumar steps in as Interim Executive Director. The new website launches in September 2025. Humane Intelligence announces the future of bias bounties and its plan to refactor and release the AI red teaming application as an open source software. Click here to read the impact report.

2024

The organization officially changes its name to Humane Intelligence, runs the regional AI safety red teaming event with the Singapore IMDA, amongst others, and grows its community of practice to several thousand participants. Humane Intelligence welcomes its first cohort of fellows.

2023

Bias Buccaneers dba Humane Intelligence is incorporated as a nonprofit organization in May 2023, and expands to host in-person red teaming events, including the largest ever generative AI red teaming exercise at DEFCON 31, a scientific mis-and dis-information red teaming exercise with the UK Royal Society, and a red teaming event on intellectual property rights at Autodesk University.

2022

While working at Twitter, Humane Intelligence co-founder, Dr. Rumman Chowdhury, developed the concept of “bias bounties”. Humane Intelligence unofficially launches under the name “Bias Buccaneers.”
